It’s Not Easy Being Green

I love the Kermit the frog song “It’s not easy being green”; it’s one of my favourite childhood songs. He sings about not fitting in, about wanting to be flashy but by the end of the song he is happy being ordinary. Ordinariness is pretty special I think. I am fascinated by the ordinary. People just going about their business, regardless of what that is. To many it may be mundane, pedestrian, even boring. They may be unremarkable, they may be unexceptional, but I happen to love that. Every one of us has a story to tell, I happen to think that the ordinary is in fact, extraordinary. I agree with Kermit, “I’m green, and that will do fine.”
