50 things I know now I’m 50
One of the best things about turning 50 is that you are not only proper grown up; you also don’t give a shizzle about a lot of things you used too. Hola!
Twenty years ago when I was only 30 (!) life was different. I wasn’t a parent, I lived in another country, I never worried about my health and I thought I was invincible.
Fast track to 50 and whilst my life has changed A LOT, I wouldn’t change it for the world.
This wonderful thing we call life is a gift, I guess that is what you learn in half a century. That no matter what life throws at us, we are all capable of so much (even though we don’t think we are). There is a certain comfort in knowing that all will be well, even in times of change, disappointment, fear and sadness. To travel these paths is the path of life, and the one we are destined to walk.
So here are 50 things that I know now I’m 50:
- The best is yet to come
- You are never too old and it is never too late, to do ANYTHING
- Forget the drama (and let it go)
- Use that fine crockery in your cupboard (the one you have been waiting for a special occasion, TODAY is a special occasion)
- Spend time with people you love and make you feel happy (if they don’t, then spend a lot less time with them)
- Shop in charity shops (the ultimate in recycling)
