I didn’t think I would ever have the energy to go on a yoga retreat, but I did and it was an awesome experience.
Our day to day lives leave us stressed, overworked and tired, a yoga retreat gives you the chance to step away from those day to day responsibilities for a while and I for one returned with clarity and calmness. It gave me the chance to reconnect with myself, unwind and focus on the real me (I don’t think I have ever done that!)
I worried about not being a particularly experienced yogi before I went but it didn’t matter, I went to every class and whilst I wasn’t able to do everything, I gave it a red hot go and I learnt a lot about focusing my mind and a few new poses!
I also flew solo on my yoga retreat, and whilst I did feel a bit awkward to begin with, I soon met new friends who were there for the same reasons as me. It is the best of both worlds when you travel alone, I also got a lot of “me” time to focus on what was important for my own personal development.
So if you are thinking about attending a yoga retreat, I say go for it! I think you will be surprised at how transformed you will feel when you get home.
