Learn to love yourself (just that little bit more) in three easy steps
There are so many things that we need to let go of, past grievances, old magazines, clothes that don’t fit, self-limiting beliefs, (those socks in the washing basket that have no mates), the list goes on, and on…
I know, we all have them (seeing we are all friends here) I find it hard to let go of my feelings about my cancer diagnosis. From time to time, I replay in my mind how I would do things differently. Not helpful. There is nothing I can do about what has happened in the past, and neither can you. It’s done and dusted. Finished, full stop.
So why do we find it so hard to let go?
Finding room in our minds and hearts is important, we need to clear out the clutter so that we can breathe and have space to flourish.
Let go of grudges, fear, worry and anything that upsets your apple cart. Creating balance in our lives allows us to live the life we are meant to.
I am a fan of adopting the “tree” method in our lives. Every autumn trees shed their beautiful leaves, they fall to the ground and they let them go. It is nature’s cycle to discard what they don’t need. How perfect.
Nature has this wonderful way of spring cleaning and making space for the new by clearing out the old, take a leaf out of that book (pardon the pun) and shed the leaves that you do not need.
What can you let go of?
Try this exercise to help let go (I learned this one from my yoga teacher too). Find a comfortable space to sit (anywhere) and close your eyes. Place your hands in your lap. Breathe in and out. Just simply notice it, don’t try to change it, just notice it as it flows in and out. Watch it rise and fall.
Relax your shoulders, your face and jaw. Open your ears to all the sounds around you, whatever they are. A bird chirping, the noise of cars driving past, the sound of the washing machine and so on. Really tune in to this.
Stay in this space for five minutes, that’s all you need to do. You will notice a difference right away, at the end of the five minutes think about what you are willing to let go of. I think you may be surprised.
So, my friends, there you are, take care of you, it really is that easy.
It only takes a few minutes a day (and we all have that available) to learn more about our real selves and see our awesomeness.
